Oily nose: a quick guide to manage your T-zone

Regain control of your T-zone with dermatologically recommended solutions to tackle oily nose

Exhausted by the overactive oil glands on your nose? The good news is that the daily duel with oily nose can be mitigated with doable skincare routines.

“Use appropriate skincare products for oily skin and oily nose all over the face,” says Dr Shoba Sudeep, a Bengaluru-based consultant dermatologist.

She suggests multi-masking and multi-moisturising methods along with applying a light water-based moisturiser to the nose area.  This method, she says, includes, “Applying a cream-based moisturiser over the rest of the face, using a clay mask over the T-zone, and a hydrating mask over other areas of the face.”

Moreover, she suggests the use of sunscreen regularly, regardless of the skin type. However, for those facing this, she recommends a gel-based sunscreen.

These recommendations aim to manage oiliness and maintain healthy skin, specifically considering oily nose and other areas of the face. According to American Academy of Dermatology Association, oily skin can stem from various factors like stress, humidity, genetics, and hormonal fluctuations. One should consult a dermatologist and customise the skincare routine based on individual skin concerns and needs.
