She was a newly wed woman, travelling alone by train from Varanasi to Delhi in 2006 when she suffered acid attack. Life changed for her since then, as she spent over two years in hospitals undergoing a total 17 plastic surgeries one after the other. Plastic surgery brought back basic functionalities for her to able to see, breathe, eat, and hear.
