Fitness: Static Stretches

Static stretches hold the body in one position. Apart from boosting blood flow and flexibility, they allow the muscles to recover from stiffness and pain. Fitness trainer Swiya De Sarkar demonstrates seven stretches that benefit all the major muscle groups and can be easily incorporated into your fitness routine. They can be done after cardio or resistance training. Static stretching can also be squeezed into your pre-workout routine if it is preceded by dynamic stretching.
