'Screen time linked to developmental delays in kids' - WHO

A study from Japan published in JAMA Pediatrics says more screen time in young children can cause developmental delays in communication and problem-solving abilities.

The study says those with exposure to more than four hours of screen time per day at age 1 were 4.78 times more likely to have less developed communication skills by age two.

Young children with excessive exposure to screens were also found to have poorer personal and social skills at age two.

The other way

Instead of calming your child down by handing them a gadget, it is better to actively play with them, read to them, take them out to the park or your daily grocery runs.

Parents should act as a role model and learn how to have a healthy engagement with technology so children can learn from them.
