With the advent of summer, people become susceptible to stomach problems owing to poor gut health. Here are some ways to keep your gut in optimal condition during the season.
It’s advisable to drink eight to 10 glasses of water every day. However, don’t overdo it. Opt for natural beverages like coconut water, buttermilk, lassi or fruit juices instead of packaged drinks.
Oily, fried and spicy foods can cause or exacerbate acid reflux and piles-related issues during this season. Hence, avoid junk and street delicacies to prevent dehydration and foodborne conditions.
Fruits and veggies with good water content, such as watermelons, berries, cucumber and leafy greens, can double up as cooling agents while promoting gut health.
Apply coconut oil on your body to stay cool and refreshed. Additionally, stay active with mild exercises like swimming and yoga, as that will facilitate better digestion.
