Food and hygiene is the major concern as most of the polling booths are government schools and offices and sometimes even the best of the preparations may not be adequate.

Apart from summer heat, people with pre-existing health conditions must be prepared to adapt to the break in their routine lifestyle and should be prepared with medication and homemade packed food that is safe.

Since most of the polling officers are women, they have unique needs compared to men and apart from food and drinks, they must always prepare for their menstrual hygiene, which they have to take care of by themselves.

As many BBMP officers are on this process for close to a month now, their morning fitness routines have all gone for a toss. The should use stairs regularly to keep the flow and take a power nap.

All polling stations are equipped with medical facilities and doctors in case of emergencies and also mobile checks on any help needed to polling officers or even to those who come to vote following extreme heat conditions.
