A visual guide to understanding empathy

Empathy is the human ability to understand and share the feelings of others. You are putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and feeling what they feel – in grief, loss, fear, pain, depression or sadness. Empathy connects us with other people and shows that we care about them. It makes us kind and supportive towards others in their adversity. It is an important trait to have for building healthy relationship.
